A Message from Pastor Jeff: Celebrating Freedom

As the fourth day of July approaches, our nation pauses to celebrate Independence Day. It’s a time when we reflect on the immense sacrifice made by brave men and women throughout history—and even today—who have shed their blood to secure and maintain our natural freedoms. The ongoing dedication of our soldiers reminds us that liberty is a precious gift, one that continually requires vigilance and sacrifice.

This reality calls us to a vital responsibility: to pray consistently for our troops and our nation. Let us lift up those who serve, asking for their protection, strength, and for wisdom to guide our leaders.

Just as the blood of our soldiers has been shed for our earthly freedom, a far greater sacrifice was made for our spiritual freedom. The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ was poured out on the cross, liberating us from the bondage of sin and offering us eternal life. This divine act of love grants us freedom that transcends any earthly circumstance.

As Paul reminds us in Galatians 5:1, “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.” This isn’t just a suggestion; it’s a powerful call to embrace the spiritual liberty Christ purchased for us.

We have been given an incredible power through prayer—the power to intercede for our nation’s freedom and to uphold our own spiritual freedom as the people of God. Both these freedoms were bought with a price, through the shedding of blood—one on the battlefield, the other on the cross. It is our profound responsibility to pray for both, recognizing the sacred cost of each.

May we never take these freedoms for granted, but instead, live in grateful prayer and steadfast faith.

Be Blessed,
Pastor Jeff
